How Fast To Lose Weight?

This question always makes me laugh. How fast should I lose weight. What they are really saying is I need to lose 60lb for my daughters wedding how can I lose it 2 weeks. Unless you amputate a couple of limbs sorry you can’t it’s just not possible.
The reality is it probably took you many years to pile of all that excess fat why should you think it won’t take a couple of years to get rid of it?
My wife Carol is a Personal Trainer and always recommends her clients lose between 1-2lbs a week as a realistic and safe fat loss guide. If you are a lot overweight this might rise to 3-4lbs a week. What’s wrong with that at 2lbs a week you would have lost over 100lbs in the year!
Not only would you have lost the fat but because the weight loss was slow you would also have made the many small lifestyle changes that mean you don’t just pile the weight back on.
It reminds me of the story about the tortoise and the hare. Yes the hare (fast weight loss) will start off ahead of the race but in the long run it is the tortoise (slow fat loss) who will win because it will be permanent (no rebounding back to your original weight).
I urge anyone on a fat loss quest to slow down, take it easy and enjoy the weight loss journey.
Don’t be the hare forget how fast to lose weight focus on slow and steady fat loss - you won’t regret it.
